Dating from 1844 Hollin Root Farm is a typical Lakeland farmhouse set in beautiful open countryside with land down to the River. We are situated at Garth Row, three miles north of the market town of Kendal, just off the A6. Its tranquil setting and large landscaped gardens make this an ideal place for longer stays and a good base from which to explore the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales. (Lake Windermere is only 8 miles away). We are very popular as a stopover between England and Scotland.

We have a double/twin/family en-suite room on the ground floor. The room has tea and coffee making facilities and colour TV. We have a large private car park for guests use, next to the farmhouse.

There are excellent eating out venues in nearby Kendal and surrounding areas. Packed lunches are available. Children are welcome. Vegetarians are welcome. We serve excellent breakfasts with our own fresh free range eggs and home made preserves.
